Dear Sir
The bearer of this Mr. H. Kohn, whom you know already before, is on his way to Europe. I dont think his means sufficient to accomplish his object. If it lay's in your power to assist him trough your influence, it will in my judgement be a great Hebrew. He has toiled and labored hard this six years and was never able to maintain his family—so it is best for him to return with his wife & child to his home.
I have not received and not seen the Occident from last month yet—no other subscriber here received any. Why?
Before Hebrew you will receive nearly (if not all) the moneys due you in this city. Dinkelspiel in Madison gave me $6. Lewensohn in Albany $3. I got between 50 & 60 Dollars for you at the broker and hope to ? as much more—when I will send you all.
Next Sunday I will have a Hebrew my wife and children are well, praise God!
I wrote you a letter in answer to yours to the post master, but have not had the pleasure to see it aknowledged by you. I also wrote one to Dr. Wise of Albany, and did not receive an answer.
You may depend Hebrew to receive money before Hebrew.

Ich bin hief, u. bin Willens nach Europa zu gehen mei nach meiner Ansicht ist es nicht nothwurdig nach Phila. ja reisen, u. könnte ?ese Ankochten? ersparen die Reise un kosten von Louisville hierher per ?bahn waren auch h?r dafur, geehrter Herr, bitte ich Sie, mir beh? zu sein daß ich meinen Plan ausführen kann.
