Dear Sir,
On the strength of the enclosed I have ventured at the eleventh hour to trouble you with the following, hoping you will pardon me for being the cause of inconvenience to you.-- The cause of my troubling you is simply this: I have been bedridden the whole of last winter with Rheumatism, and my precarious livelihood, teaching, has thus failed to support me during that time on account of weakness, which still clings to me, and prevents me from visiting Ph. in person.- Being advanced in years the fervent prayer of the royal Psalmist: [Hebrew] seems to be hard upon me, and [Hebrew] I sincerely beg of you, to oblige the bearer of this, my son, with a few good names of your congregations where he may have a chance to sell a few copies, to help me a little under present difficulties.
