My dear Friend
I fear you will think me negligent in not replying to your much valued, and friendly letter. Indisposition prevented my doing so, and although (thanks to my heavenly Father) I am much better, I am not well.
I cannot say your views my dear friend, are such as I hoped, or wished for, yet I respect and appreciate your candor, since writing to you I had a conversation with my nephew A F Jones and (some time previous) with Wm B Hackenberg

on the subject of having the walls inclosing the cemetry on Spruce St raised, and I will take no further steps in this matter untill that question is settled, thanking you again my dear Sir for your kind-ness, and good wishes, with kind remembrance to your family
