My dear Sir
Your favor with Enclosures to hand this A. M--I saw Rev H. P. Mendes this afternoon and he will call a meeting of the Advisory Board of Ministers for next Monday at 4 o'clock--he promised to write to you as to same--I have not the address of Dr Cardoza, but will ascertain it, and notify him to come before your Board on Monday, and to avoid any possible delay should Rev Mendes not write to you at once. I will also drop a line to Rev Drachman & Mr Engelman to appear on same day &c--
I have not yet been able to procure a free pass or mileage book--the party I wish to see is out of the city-I shall not neglect it, but do my best to get it--The names you mention will be looked after, and their support solicited--If you desire to be present at our next Trustee Meeting, which I intended to call for Sunday the 16th, and will let me know as to same soon (or on Monday next when you come here, will do). I will change the date to Tuesday the 18th in the Evening--this would enable you to be
present at the lesson of the Students on the afternoon of same day--We can however speak of all this on Monday next, if you shall then be here--please if convenient consult Dr Cohen as to this-- Although probably you have already knowledge of same I deem it my duty to inform you, that the Advisory Board has arranged for the classes for Tuesdays, Thurs-days & Sundays--Deuteronomy with Grammar, with Rev Jacobs & Drachman on alternate Sundays--
Isai--with commentary & Rashi with Rev De Sola Mendes & Wise on alternate Tuesdays--Rev Kohut, Mishna & Rev H. P. Mendes, History & Literature on alternate Thursdays--This afternoon Rev Kohut was in charge of the class--Everything will no doubt gradually get in good shape. Especially when you shall have a regular system governing the Seminary and the Preceptor &c--If you can let me know what time & where you will arrive here on Monday, I will try to meet you & we can talk over matters before your Ministers meeting--otherwise I shall certainly and at any rate see you at meeting--
