My dear sir!--
I took the liberty to telegraph to you for any information you might have concerning one Rosedola or Rosendale, an apostate, who under the name of Dr Wad-El-Ward is lecturing in churches and halls here under the auspices of the Y. M. C. A.
I have had occasion, several times to contradict, to friends, some of his assertions concerning the history feelings and religion of our people, but of course have entered into no public controversy, nor do I propose so to do. He has announced an intention however to address the Masonic lodges of the city August second, next, and then &
there is just where I desire to meet him, where he cannot get away from me, nor appeal to a new audience with an exparte statement. I desire to be posted as far as possible in the man's doings, some of which I have learned; and being under the impression that he "worked" Philadelphia some years ago I applied to you. He is reaping a rich harvest here and proposes to travel through all the surrounding country, with his "lovely wife Rebecca"
