My dear sir
By all means use Mr Cohen's donation in the cause of charity for the benefit of the case you mention. I feel perfectly warranted in authorizing this disposition of the money though unfortunately the donor Mr Cohen is now in his grave. He died of heart disease two days after giving me the money. As nobody but ourselves were aware of the transaction I must trouble you to send a line stating that you have applied Mr Cohen's contribution to the alleviation of distress as he desired and I will then send this to his widow that she may know he had been generously inclined preceding his death. My heart is heavy & sad with the terrible outlook confronting us. God grant the coming year may bring some rays of hope. May you be written in the book of life sincerely yours D Solis Cohen
