Dear Mr. Morais:--
I am in receipt of your note of the 15th, and also of Mr. Piza's letter, and will submit them to the Board at the next meeting. Permit me to say however that when Mr. Morais expresses an opinion differing from the Amer. Hebrew, we accept it as an honest difference of opinion and not as a reflection upon the Hebrew, for we have not quite attained to infallibility. The question raised is one that I am not competent to speak on and will be taken care of by the "clerical section" of the board.
We have ordered from the publishers Mesrs. Houghton, Mifflin & Co. to be sent to you the Life & Letters of Jas & Lucretia Mott, and will be pleased
to have you write us a review of the book if your time will permit. We have taken the liberty of doing so because of the personal acquaintancewith the Motts which we believe you enjoyed. I may suggest, that if time presses, it is perfectly proper to use the title of the book merely as the text, for a brief sketch and instead of reviewing the "life & letters" to give a brief sketch of the persons or subject treated. We would prefer a short notice. From half a column to a column if possible but leave that entirely to yourself.
