In anticipation of an event fraught with joy gladness your colleagues, expressly convened together, beg to offer their felicitations in unison of sentiments. They con-ceive that the assurance of their kind wishes will be gra-tifying to your feelings, in the forthcoming celebration. The f These few lines are designed to convey, however feebly, a joint expression of sincere good will.
To have reached the three score years and ten, which the inspired Psalmist deemed the term of life, and to retain one's fa-culties unimpaired, and without the power and will to pursue a sacred calling, is a heavenly blessing. That invaluable boon you are permitted fully to enjoy. You have therefore a real cause for gladness.
While your Congregation will, by and [?] offer thanksgivings in a fitting Synagogual[?] service, your coworkers in a religious field, pray that you may abide here in happiness. They entreat the Lord "in whose hand is the soul of all living", that those you hold dear on earth may share your increased felicity, during a ^ long protracted existence.
