Dear Sir
your communication addressed to Mr Simon Jacoby Parnass of Congregation Beth Israel dated Sept 15. 1887 in reference of the Jewish Theological Seminary, was handet to me the 16th inst.
In reply allow me to state, that at the annual meeting of the congregation held Sept 11th last. The Board of Managers have unanimously recomendet the adviseabity of adopting a resolution to join the Jewish Theological Seminary, and have also advocated its cause, and after an animated debate, and finaly when a vote was taken the resolution of joining the above named society was defeated by a large majority
