Dear Sir and Colleague!
Enclosed find a letter from a convict in the Eastern Penitentiary. As I am unable to attend to his case, I beg to ask you to examine it and, eventually, take the proper measures towards his relief. Your brother-in-law, Mr Edw H. Weill will assist you with what legal advise you may be in need of.
The letter is an eloquent plea in itself, and I have no doubt but you will do your utmost to rescue a fellow believer though guilty.
