My dear sir
Mr Henry Allen has sent me your letter of 27th Inst to reply his mother being indisposed & taking up the entire of his time. I regret to state Mr Levison is very low & is not expected to survive but a few Hours. Today he has been unconscious not even recognizing his nurse who has been in constant attendance upon him the past 6 weeks. In his present condition it will be merciful to wish his speedy end. I have been an eye witness daily to his gradual decline & when I parted from him this morning I did not expect to see him again, at 5.30 I left him this evening in a quiet tranquil sleep.
