My dear Sir
A few days since I advertised in the Public Ledger for a German lad for my office and I received an answer from J. Z. Josephson, who named you as a reference. I thought I would like to see the lad and wrote him requesting him to call on me, the letter being addressed to him at the Post Office, as he suggested. As I have not heard from him, my letter may in some way have miscarried. If you happen to know his address, and can recommend him, I have no objections to having an interview with him, if you can con--veniently get word to him to that effect.
