- Rev. Robertson’s pulpit message opposes the separation of church and state. He is angered by the "irreligious character" of the country’s rulers and a "Government ... mute and gagged for FEAR of a handful of Jews and professed infidels living under the vine and fig-tree of the Christian heritage!"
